Hi,
I'm trying to have randomized polygonal numbers for a particle system.
here is what I did so far

1_created a bevelPlus text ( so I can change the text under textForBevel )
2_instanced it to an nParticle.
3_created a custom random number between 1 and 10 called "randTxt"
4_used "randTxt" to drive the textForBevel of my poly text.
5_it works but all the numbers are the same in the particle system

I know it would be the same cause its changing the instanced txt but I dont know how to do it.

I would appreciate your help guys.

Best,
Peter

Thank you but I'm trying to modify one polygon for all of the particles.

You want to tweak textForBevel1 >> Text Curves History >>Text value....right??
but tell me what is the benefit by doing this?? Assume if you set value let say 3,then every particle will instance with shape of 3.That means if you want to show text from A-Z or 0-9 at a time then you will need all relative shape in your scene.I am 99 % sure no more idea for remaining 1%.All the best

And you can set that value by using below expression:

int $RandNumber=rand(0,9);
setAttr -type "string" textForBevel1.text "$RandNumber";

I know this is exactly what I'm trying to avoid. Just any modification to an instanced object would be the answer.
Lets say you wan to change the per-particle opacity of each instance.
How do you do that?
Thanks
