This is sort of a milestone, modelling has already begun on this guy, and so far so good... I just had to get something down, or else I don't know if I ever would...

BACKSTORY: This is what I call an "Orb Spine", these are indegenous "lifeforms" to this alien world. Much like an apple tree found on Earth, these "trees" hold a fruit (the orbs) which contain material (a purpilish gas inside them) used to power all the stuctures and biomechanical life forms on this planet.

I consider this guy a milestone because they will be pretty dominate in the scene, maybe a field of them, or them being grown in a lab enviroment... Hope you like :) i'll post the modelling when its done.

--------------------------------

Alright its what I've got for the layout so far, the scan didn't do so well so its kinda' hard to see. Anyway, empty/deserted city scape in the back, alien structures and the like, and towards the front im looking at huge structures by themselves, surrounded by fields of "orb spines" see above :) I would like to keep a lot of geodesic(SP?) shapes towards the front so it is recognisable, but still has an other worldly touch to it.. Color and composition coming soon! and then modelling/rendering/post etc etc....
