after some serious drooling and wiping some salive from my keyboard i wondered how 'some ' stuff were created on the website of http://www.teknoel.com/

check the following link
design -> 3-d -> X-ray concept

if you done it correctly, you would see an x-ray of a DIN plug or something...
what i am wondering is..... How was the blue glow effect created ???
Was this done within 3d rendering (assigning texture) or was this done outside the 3d package ???

if it was done in 3d , how would one do this then ? :)

thank you in advance...

*slurp* - sorry.... a bit of after drool

at first : looks really cool the whole website.

the effect can be created in many ways. one that comes to my mind at first is the facing ratio value from the sampler info node. that would make it possible to make the edges that aren't really edges. the real edges could be done with a grid texture used to control the glow effect. the blueish glow itself isn't that hard to reach. but i wouldn't render the glow effect directly within 3d. i would just render it as black and white map and then use it in compositing to control a glow. then you'll have far greater control about the whole effect etc.
