I am 14 years old and have been working with 3ds and Maya for 2 years. I intern for a studio called Digital World Fx, in my spare time. This is my 2nd attempt on making a flash web page. Tell me what you think!! Also check out my 3d work too (in the still life section) and tell me your comments!

Cheers

Its hard to appreciate your work when the pics are so small. From what I can tell some of your work it quite good.

Offer an alternative to flash - It looks nice but lots of users, like myself, hate it.

You're 14, well done

We don't really need to know your age. I'm getting tired of people that post and have to make it a point of their age so we will be like, Oh man that is unbelievable, and you're only 14.

The website is slow to load, the graphics are very aliased, and the layout needs to be simplified. Right now the way you have the images of your gallery loading over the frames gets old and difficult to navigate. You also need to do some research on color coordination, as some of your colors do not look good together on screen.

You are learning the basics, but remember that you need to crawl before you can walk, and walk before you can run.

You also should post a specific piece of artwork if you would like crits on it.

I understand you're proud of your work, and I'm not trying to tear you down.. but how about learning a little humility?

"From sketch to wireframe to masterpiece!"

Then on the front page you have "The best in 3D artwork"

Accompanied by an untextured butterfly made of tubes and a crayon box with a stretched texture on one side.

Stick to a simple html site, it loads faster.. and no more photoshop-ish shiny things all over the place.

G'luck!

I think it's awesome that you are lucky enough to have access to these kinds of apps at such a young age (although you should be drawing in my opinion). And I'm certain that to you these do look like masterpieces.

I remember when I was about 10 I drew a picture of an owl and entered it into an art competition. I remember thinking there is no way I could lose because that owl was done perfectly. Well for one I lost. For two later on when I was moving out for college I ran across that same picture. It looked like a picasso. I had to laugh.

Anyway... luckily my skills and my perspective and point of view on my own art has matured. Don't take too much of the reactions in this forum to heart. They are just trying to teach a hard lesson. It sounds to me that you have a passion for this work and are off to a good start. You will eventually learn that art is not just a tool for praise but a tool for expression.

Good luck to you, you look to have a great future ahead of you. As mentioned before work on the fundamentals (line, color, shape, composition) and keep coming back to cgtalk, look at all the amazing work being done in this community and learn from it.

Hey guys, thanx for the critiques....

I noticed you "complained " about it saying masterpiece. I don't really think that my work is the greatest (but not bad), I just needed to think of something to put in the intro.

Also the "untextured" butterfly is that way because it needed to be vectorized. Also it was one of my first things, so I decided to keep it.

mattregnier, what did you mean by "difficult to navigate"?

I'm now thinking of a flash/html hybrid website, so it still looks good, but is faster to load.

N e way thanx again for all the response :)
