So,

I figure we could start something here.

If you know of a good book that we all should buy post it here.

I know I am looking for a really good book for Texture Painting and Texture unwrapping.

Id also like to see a good tutorial book for advanced modeling like Mechs and such. Robots with lots of little parts.

You?

Matchmoving - the invisible art of camera tracking by tim dobbert
Digital Lighting and Rendering 2nd edition by Jeremy Birn
the HDRI Handbook by Christian Blotch
Digital Compositing for Film and Video 3rd edition by Steve Wright

Those are the books I own and I highly recommend them all. For a strictly 3d artist (no comping), I would just recommend digital lighting and rendering and the HDRI handbook.
I don't know of any books specifically on texture painting, but the deartist books from ballistic are fantastic for digital paintings.

Honestly, because of the detailed technical aspect of CG art, I've gone mostly the way of the video learning tutorials (basically they can't go from 3 polys to a finished nose in 1 page <--yes, I've seen this). However, for inspiration, I still reach for the books. Like MrConterno mentioned, the Art of books (pick one) :) are amazing. I currently have the Art of the Lord of the Rings and Matrix and Oddworld in my office. My friend purchased the Art of Uncharted from CGSociety and says he'd give up his girlfriend before the book. Shrug.
