neversong 10-19-2003, 03:12 PM hello~
It's been a while since I last worked on my own project.
so, now I'm trying to warm-up and start new one.
As a warm-up, I'm modeling this one.
I just ran into this sketch which I really loved as I first saw it.
I'm realizing... it's really not easy to model Japanese anim style.
C&C please! :D

Hey Song.
Looking great so far. I'm not too fond of the forehead and nose transition though, they look kinda funky. Maybe move it in a littlebit?
Although you know better...just a suggestion :)
Real good start for a 'warmup'. I wanna see what you come up with after you're fully loaded and ready to go.
I'll check back.

Hey, Marsel.
good point. I've been seeing it from the beginning.
I think, when modeling anything, it's the most difficult to give the chunk of mesh 'the look', than just modeling the front/side view.
merely modeling front/side view exactly matching won't give anything.
same with this one, the side view matches the sketch very very closely, but I can't help but thinking that it just doesn't look
as good as I'm aiming.
so, now I'll have to change that area...
compensating between the original design and my own sense.
..which, in real industry, is EVIL. hahaha.
Astro-sanchez, thank you! :D

Song,
I think I know exactly what you mean ;)
Yeah, maybe its just that the reference looks good on paper but not in 3-space.
Although who knows, I've seen all kind of weird anime characters :P
I love your topology though, its so clean and logical, bravo.
