View Full Version : cleaning up a head model (created from a head scan)

Hi there, I'm new to Maya, formerly used 3ds max. I have a model that I'm going to use for facial animation, and it was created from some head scan software, so the edges aren't good. I'd also like to add very simple hair/a back of the head. Any suggestions for the best way to do this? Here are pictures so you can see where the scan missed:

As for his collar, I can either clean it up if its simple or choose to completely remove it and finish his neck up.

Make it a live surface, and rebuild it using the create poly tool, and the append to poly tool.

Easy Peasy.
