Hi, i am trying to teach my self XSI, i have shader building and lighting going fine. The render settings are cool too, but for the life of me i can not figure out how to set up a image plane that works in the same way that the imagePlane node works in Maya. I have it set up so I can see it in the viewport but it doesn't render like in Maya. I know its super basic, but for the life of me i can not figure it out.

You can do this by adding a shader to your Rendre Pass:

1. Use Pass / Edit / Current Pass (or select Create New Pass if needed).

2. Go to the Pass Shaders tab.

3. In the Output Shaders area hit Add / Insert / More / 2D _Background_Pic

4. Open the 2D_Background_Pic shader and select your image or sequence.

Now when you render the image will be composited with the background.

Hope this helps,
