View Full Version : Character: Warm Light (nudity)
insanelight 10-18-2003, 05:42 AM Hi all, I'm new in this section of CGTalk!
This is my absolute first attempt to paint with my new Wacom graphic tablet. I'm satisfied by the result, but, I know, there are a lot of errors. I made this paint looking a beautiful photo for Maxim magazine.
On my site you can see a little page with the painting sequence.
C&C are apreciated, thanks a lot. :)

I think you did a really nice job simulating the light bleeding around her silouhette.
This image makes me want to get some beer caps and see if I can make a basket in her undies. 20 points!!

Did she find something in her underwear she wasn't expecting?

Well this is certainly a good first digital painting. I also like to use reference from Maxims altjugh the ones we get here dont show the finer parts ;)
Anyways you handled the lighting fairly well, there is a warm feeling and the glow is nice.
On the critique side I can offer a couple of suggestions that may or may not help.
The folds in the cloth (shorts?) dont seem quite right but folds are by no means easy to master.
The texture in the wall behind her looks filterish (like a texture and lighting effect) and doesnt quite mesh with the overall style.
Overall I think the glow works but in spots (perhaps in spots that are important to the viewer's sense) its too much or smudgy but that may have been your purpose.
Anyways keep on flying at it, nice work.
Cheers.
