Check it out. There is not much, but there is a clear view of the head of the pasta loving cat. At least Garfield now looks like Garfield.

Wow, I was unaware that a Garfield movie was in the works. Hopefully it's not overly stupid.

Hmm, if it wasn't for Joel Cohen and Bill Murray on that list I'd expect scooby-poo, but Bill rocks so much, I have hope..heh. I'm really hoping he wouldn't follow up something as absolute genius as Lost In Translation with a total dud. Plus even in the worst flicks he's been in, he still brings that something extra to the table.

Isn't that the same image they had on the poster or whatever it was that got posted a while back? Still has that kinda odd 2D/3D look..will just have to wait for future trailers to see it 'for reals' I guess.

what's changed about it? looks like the same shot that was shown before to much general mirth and despair.

maybe it will look like garfield once the out of character shades go and it's in motion. and of course the body shape will help... ok i admit it i don't have much hope for this flick. then agian i've been proved wrong about films in the past.

Thouse glasses are so 1980. Why did they not give him something trendy at least. Like Frameless Neo glasses or something new. Eck this will be awfull.

I dunno Garfield is from he 80's and those glasses were popular then.. I could take or leave the Neo glassess.. which is more of a cliche right now? The neo glasses.

ha ha, But every time I see a show or movie, those are the default glasses(80's) that are used to showcase that the person is 'cool' . :shame: That means they know nothing of todays standards. :shame:
Whatever. I bet like madness that they will be taking away his lasagna . Other wise heath protesters would protest about the bad image it is to feed a cat to much food.

The fur looks pretty cool. I wonder how his eyes look like. After all the eyes represent the character

(Found on the net, maybe early studies during the 80s.....all that's left in today's version are the glasses :D )

Actually it wouldn't surprise me if they did edit the garfield's typical dialogues about eating. I woul diamgine that there will also be less of his sleeping and lazyiness either otherwise it won't be too much of a movie :shame:

Make it more trendy you say? Maybe you should be a movie executive

Theres nothing Garfield likes more than a nice tofu wrap and a mineral water.

Garfields image is as a fat, lazy cat whos favorite food is lasagna. If they dont include any of that they might as well save some money and just do a film about a generic house cat that licks its butt all day.

I still know people that would pay to see even that.

I seriously doubt execs would want to change anything about the film based on the recent overhyped Dr. Phil-ish obesity obsession. If they do, I'll lose the miniscule amount of respect I have remaining for the entertainment industry and move down to Mexico.

I still can't believe Im replying to a post about Garfield. I must be real hard up for entertainment.

Piece of useless film knowledge here...

As i'm sure you all know, Bill Murray played Peter Venkman, very cool character, ("somebody blows there nose and you wanna keep it?") and in the 'Real Ghostbusters' cartoon Venkman was voiced by Lorenzo Music.

Guess who else Music lent his voice too? yep. Garfield!

So with Bill Murray now being Garfield, things have come full circle!

I blame you personally for all that is wrong with this world. Ugh...

Sorry but I hate that mentality.

But as for the movie, the cartoons were never good, garfield is based around a few central themes, ie. kick the dog, eat, and sleep, with everything presented in a few short quips. How can they possibly make a good character or interesting story out of that?

if the quality of the website reflects the quality of the movie, then we're in for a real treat

Hey, that actually looked better than I had expected. This might turn out alright.
Bill Murray as garfield seems like a good choice aswell.
Breckin Meyer doesn't seem to far fetched as far as looks are concerned, quality may be something else.
Jennifer Love Hewitt, i've seen her do good and bad...
Since Jim Davis himself is directing the movie we should see any "weird" character changes.
Anyways, being a long time reader of Garfield pockets, I'm very curious :)

Wow. Now THATS interesting. I was just sitting here wondering if Bill was the original voice of Garfield in "Garfield and Friends." Sure sounded like him, but thanks to you, now I dont have to Google it.

I'm actually looking forward to this movie, only because I grew up in the 80's, and Garfield and Calvin & Hobbes were my life then.
