Quote From Toonzone:
"They are currently working on Nausicaa, with Patrick Stewart, Uma Therman, and possibly Natalie Portman, although she's not definite yet. Apparently Portman is pushing for a theatrical release (hope she gets her way, but we all know how likely that is).

To see how potential voice actors will fit the part, they use Final Cut Pro to take audio clips from other movies and play it over the animation. When working on the English version, they just practice the dialogue while watching the movie, trying to get the lip sync right (lots of rewinding). They use the direct translation and also other existing dubs as a guide."

PS Of you have not seen Nausicaa, look for it. This film moved me a lot.

Let's hope they are going to do the full film this time. The one that came out in the 80s was really chopped up, to make it more kiddie friendly... :(

nausicaa hasn't really aged well so don't go expecting great things. It was so hot when it first came out though. It looks a bit dated compared to Spirited away.

Yeah, I agree. I watched it again recently with my wife, and it's showing its age definitely. The characterizations, pacing and the structure isn't as mature as his later works too.
