Hi all,

i want to do ipr region rendering without dragging mouse, just by passing values to procedure

"renderWindowCheckAndRenderRegion"

Q. I want to know how maya generates value for "renderWindowCheckAndRenderRegion"?

i've gone through renderWindowPanel.mel inside "/scripts/other/" and found

"This procedure is called by TrenderWindowSelectCtx.cc that defines
a region. It checks if a region can be rendered."

Q. where can i find "TrenderWindowSelectCtx.cc" ?

anything ending in Ctx is a context tool... a dynamic user-operated tool that handles mouse inputs like clicking and dragging. that comment refernce you've found just tells the author/reader that the values: $top, $left, $bottom, $right are generated by this context (which by the sounds of it is an API function / C++ code)

if you want to render a region by code don't you just call this function ("renderWindowCheckAndRenderRegion") with the four values you want to determine the render region..? you don't need to worry about how it is normally dynamically called...?
