Hello people.

Just finished the last of my renders. Finally compiled the finished version. I still did not want to show this, but I am, because I am looking to go back and refine some of the animation.
(based on the feedback i get)

I thought I`ll get more attention here in the finished gallery.
So here it is, please watch , but I really need some critics on the animation, as I want to go back and re-do some of them

Thanks, looking forward to hear some helpful feedback from you all.

Animation is pretty good. Funky in some parts, right. Looks better than soccer video games though, with motion capture. I love it when they're arguing about the red card. And when the guy's hurt on the ground but the music keeps on playing. Thats so funny.

Looks great.

My only crit is that I would have liked to see more characters on the field or at least different looking characters. The animation was great though. I kept waiting for a Matrix -esque seen where you would rotate the camera around some of those kicks.

Great Job!

overall it is really well done. OK you wanted some crits

in places the running looks kinda stiff, like the legs are moving at the hips but the legs aren't getting extention at the knee.

on the close ups of the soccer ball, the black "trim" looks too large for the size ball.

Like I said, overall it is really well done and hard to find things to crit.

I will try to crit my own work, whihc is difficult, maybe based on this you guys can point out other stuff.

Fixes:
- Slight leg sliding in the begining enterance scene.
- Will add more flex on spine in the Ball foorwork scene.
- fix or re-do the Bicycle kick.
- Celebration run, dont know what to fix, but looks a little weird to me.
- add full leg stretch on kicks.
- make the falling more hard.
- in the slow-motion shots will fix the jump part , need to show more contact when leaving the ground.

Other than that I am satisfied with the volley kick, the referee, the argue scene, the hurt scene, the goalie jumps.

Well those are the thing that I see and will start fixing.
Many of you say the animation is stiff at places. Can you please point out, that will be really helpful . I want to fix and get this done soon.

Thanks guys.

I would really like to see some hair on the models head. What I see is the texture which looks like they all got military cuts. Great work though overall.

its awesome except a few things i dont like, why the monday night football music lol? I am gonna crit on the way they play, partly because i have been playing soccer my self for 14 years. On the bicycle kicks, he never really extends his leg all the way. and when you show them kicking the ball, they are kicking it with the outside of their foot but its curving too much inward for how they kicked it, if you want that effect, have them using more of the laces or inside of their feet.

other than that, pretty damn good job i say m8

nice stuff.....ok cirts first...

1) from the begining to end i found something is missing and its the crowd(audiance)...would be better if you can put some crowd there with banners and flags......if possible....

2) animation looks pretty stiff where players are running and falling.....spacially where GKeeper dives for the save and falls down, he falls like a toy....put some more follow-through.....

3) these are the shots in which i didnt like animation.....

* player juggling the ball
* player argueing......lack of acting....
* celebration run......looks like amitabh bachchan singing the song.......lol

4) shots which i liked...

* all slowmotion shots....they are pretty well done....
* player scoring a goal with his head.....goal post view...

5) nice editing....but would have been better without the repetative shots.....i would make it shorter...and if the music is long, edit the music accordingly.....

6) if its a cenematic shot for a game, doesnt matter if its low poly or high poly......then why not to use high poly aniamtion...?if its a demoreel to show in EA, u can show the low poly models saperately......

overall, look is pretty good....i know u've worked hard on the animation....and anybody here can say that after watching this awesome clip.....but frankly speaking i liked TOTAL CONTROLL more than this one.....

this is the way i watched TOTAL SOCCER......keep up the good work......and i bet EA guys will like this if you are showing......just fix some errors....and its ready to roll......

Ive played soccer for several years as well..

I didnt like the shots where the player is about to kick the ball, there is abit of hesitating, when playing Ive seen many players kicking the ball with the right leg as soon as the left leg lands on the floor.. (this scene is before the juggling)

the juggling: the leg that remains on the floor looks very stiff

Celebration run: he could take part of his shirt off and put it over his head, do a back flip, run for 2 secs and then slides to his knees. since there are no face expressions

definatedly more characters chasing the ball. or during the red card
at the end it seem like you ran out of things to put, so you repeated the scenes..some thing you could add... corner kick? throw in? a coach yelling from the benches right after player gets injured. the medics running to his aid and taking him away.
Goalies are allways in the center of the goal.. never on the FAAAAAAAAAAr side...... no time to jump and protect the goal... oh wait, they scored on him :)

Very cool animation, if I hadnt broken down the scenes most of the stuff would not have been as noticesable
I also noticed that you animated to the soundtrack.. way cool.

Just one comment cuz i think you have enough feedback already... Just add more weight to the characters and to the ball as well. Analyze a little bit more some videos of those plays. Watch Van Basten, Rivaldo, Hugo Sanchez doing those side kicks.

Good stuff!

Alright!!.. Thanks a lot everybody....wow very detailed comments in every area. I have started working on the animation fixes.

I think i`ll cut the animation short, seems many ppl dont like the repetition. Its 1:40min...i`ll bring it down to maky 1:20.

Thanks(shash, nako, pioz)for all the comms and feedback guys, really appreciate.

I like the concept of the video but theres a lot of places u can improve. Ive been playing soccer since i can remember, and some of the action u do just dont make sense. For example, when the yellow shirt guy out play the grey shirt guy, the fake looks so unreal, and he should use the right leg to push the ball right when the defender is on his left and not goin left, if u understand waht i say. Also, the header seems odd, where the head and the ball meet is kinda in a wrong spot, the player should head it with their forehead. the position of the guy and the direction of the ball doesnt make real sense to me. The bicycle kicks look nice, but the player should arch more before he lift his shooting leg.
Finally, its a very minor stuff, but the music is the sunday NFL music,ARRRRRRRRRRR, come on, its not that hard to find those football music,......:buttrock:

Good start! I love soccer! The only crit I have is give the characters more weight via follow through and secondary movements. :D
