It's a good start, but far from complete. The shadow should be a little softer, and all of the textures need wearing and variation.

Nice start for the barrells. rotate the texture on the barrels so they don't look like clones. i feel like there's something missing on the lid to your barrel, but i can't place my finger on it. can you place a wire up?

Everything looks clean, so good work with the geometry. I have marked the places that I think could use some work. I think that there should be 2 more metal rings around the wood. That's the way I know most barrels look. Also, the ring around the top of some of your barrels is not aligned properly, I'm not sure if you ment to do that or not. Another thought would be to have the lid sink into the barrel about an inch or two, I know a lot of barrels like that as well :)

Hope this helps.

thats some great stuff, thanks, i will work on them asap. And will get a wire up. Im pretty new to this so please be patient with me :)

(this is the first time ive tried to texture)

I tried rotating the tezturing, but it ended up twirling and deforming it if you know what i mean. how would i go about that.

Also dirt/grime, i was reading an article about using blend material. Is this correct?

Great! :) These thoughts just came to me as possible background props.. perhaps a crowbar to hint to the viewer that the barrels were opened recently *I would put it on the laying on the ground somewhere, or maybe lean it against the wall?*. Maybe some rope would be laying around or just in a pile. Depending on what you are planning to do for this scene, you could also add a broken barrel if you felt called to do so.

If these don't sound like good ideas/you don't want to change the scene, that's all fine and dandy. (my feeling won't be hurt!) Have a great day.

Oh, yes, about the texturing too. I'm no texturing expert, but you could just rotate that top barrel around say about 42 degrees. Just so those dark boards don't match up in a line. Don't forget about that barrel on the far right, it needs to be rotated as well. About the grime/dirt, I don't know what to tell you, tutorials for me have always been the way to go. I would recommend Leigh's tutorials in the Texturing forum. They aren't program specific, and give a lot of good insight.
