View Full Version : blend shape problem
kassun 10-16-2003, 05:06 PM Using Maya 5.01, I created roughly 25 blend shapes and they all work fine independantly; however, when I try to mix them for example a brow raise with a vowel blend shape nothing happens.
Only the first shape has influence on the shape the second has no effect.
thanks,

Did you create them through the main menu (Deform->Create Blend Shape) or through the blend shape dialog (Window->Animation Editors->Blendshape, and then Edit->Create Blendshape on that dialog)?
If you did it with the former, then all should be good. If you used the latter approach, then Maya set the blendshapes up with a parallel blender, which is flat out annoying. If you did the latter, you'll probably have to set up your blendshapes again.
Also you probably want to group blend shape nodes, so for example all your brow targets are on one blendShape node, all your phonemes are on another, all your mouth expressions are on a third, etc.
Hope this helps,
Michael Duffy
