View Full Version : Moon Flyby
Messed around some more with my old moon model and earth to make a little animation of a moon flyby. Let me know what you all think.

looks nice, great motion, would be nice to see a little blur in there. Did you use the structure plugin on your little satelite thing? Oh the another crit, the shadow fromthe satelite onto the moon is a little too black and dark, maybe a slight hint of blue or at least a little lighter. It just looks blacker than everything else, other wise very nice.

so by the fact that you posted this hear and not you know where, I take it that you plan on being an active meber here, or still both?
hey, that looks very good! motion blur would give some enhancement, but the camera movement and moon texture is amazing.
how did you achieve the smooth cam? i remember when i made a similar animation, the change between camera movement to a look-at-sequence becomes slightly 'jumping' (oh those germans *g*).
pleeeez let me know how you did that!
  :applause:
Thanks Sad. It's true that unless you kind of know Cinema it's hard to appreciate how difficult achieving this kind of movement can be. I typically nest camera elements, assign different jobs to different parts of the nest, and use time control for easing. When I use time control I only use two keys and keep the sequences short and separate with each distinct movement having it's own short sequence.
To Skai: I posted here because I didn't need a big audience, and this forum feels more free of the politics and bickering of Postforum. And I like the Smiles and the Avatars as they give the place a warmer, friendlier, more intimate atmosphere.

Pollitics, mmmm yeah, I just got into a bad situation in Postforum by a sliup of the tongues, four emails and and ICQ already. oops. its amazing what a little mis wording can do.
Oh, have either of you two looked at Jeremy's little camera movement trick? http://www.jeremyw.com/C4D_Stuff/easy_cam/easy_cam.html
works great for me.
That's what you get for perpetuating off topic threads with inflammatory opinions. :shame:
Right, that is more or less the technique I use. I also have a tutorial demonstrating nested camera techniques and automated camera panning here:
