Hi

I need to find out how to go about skinning my character in Max before bringing it into Motionbuilder

I have a bone structure set up that imports perfect and charactersizes all ok, I can then animate the bones but there is no link between the model and the bones. the mesh stays exactly as it is

So if anybody can explain what I have to do to set up skinning or know of any on-lines resources for doing this, would be very much appreciated

Thanks

Andy

We can help more efficiently if u were to attach a copy of the max file here, but basically use the 'skin' modifier in max, not physique or any other skining plugin, no need for any IK, obviously, all you need is bones and character model, then you export it as fxb, then open in MB, where u 'Characterize' your character to get access to character controls, where u can animate,
let us know how u get along

I found some information on skinning and managed to get a working file into Motionbuilder, which I could characterize,
I used the skin modifier... in the end the process is pretty easy
Now I have to animate, the fun part....

Thanks
