View Full Version : animation/character:CombatRobot
luckthunder 10-15-2003, 09:42 PM A Robot build only to combat the constructor's arch-enemy, who looks like the very simple emulated puppets which are destroyed in this movie clip.

Hmmm, I guess i just don't get it. Not much of a character. Not much as far as animation is concerned either.
And although simplicity can sometimes be refreshing, in this case it's not. You've got the animations themselves playing much to slow, no way to see if it's good or not.
This is something that definately needs to be moved to the Work In Progress forum.

at the risk of sounding rude... i'm not too impressed, honestly. I can't view the animation (which I was hoping was the redeeming factor) and sphere people aren't special... whatcha going for?

 I guess if you were looking for simplicity... you certainly achieved it. But its a pretty cool kinda simplicity. I dunno, i dont know what to say without saying something i dont mean.

well ... i like this animation. it's simple, but damn sure cool stuff!
that chap, in the animation, has his characterstics, which are well shown in the animation.
i guess modelling him wasn't that challenging, but i like the action (cool effects achieved through simple effects and camera work, slow mo ... ).
how long did it take ... ? and what software...?:applause:

Ho! Nice action!!!!!!!!!!
Cool idea!!!!!!!!
I'm wondering how someone lurking around (that "Sizzlebits" above) can be bold enough to comment on something which he even hasn't seen yet ... really bold.
:annoyed:

Hi everybody! First of all: thanks for your comments (also those negative critics :-) ).
I do admit that there are several things that could be done better in the animation and that I probably spend toooooo much time in concentrating in the action than in such things as modelling an "impressive" character.Well, I missed to tell that this animation clip should just give an impression of the "character" 's abilities. The main animation is not finished now and will show the fight between the robot and the "real" opponent (not these puppets). So I actually didn't waste much thoughts for this clip.
The other thing: There was recently some trouble with my webspace ... the result: I uploaded a *.zip with a password ("Anim" or "An". that was stupid... . There's a new one.

well, I surely didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. :hmm: I suppose i'm just one of many jaded people. Keep up the good work!
