Hi all !

This is my first serious attempt at textureing something. i used photos as textures (so i did not paint any). made in about 1-2 weeks in max, brazil rendered (half an hour). suggestions ?

cheers,
daniel

Well technically it's not a matchbox but a Majorette (spelling?);)

Very nice though. The highlight on the hood semms right, but you could make the shadow a little softer and add some depthblur to indivate the small scale.
You know what people incorrectly do do to regular car renders hehe.

well, ok it's a majorette technically , but hey, it's small, it's from metal, and it's a car, so it is a matchbox.. :p tho i wonder how you knew it is'nt
i was lucy with the highlight, as it was on the photograph...
i don't really know how to make soft shadows with brazil, is there any way ?
dof seems a good idea really, thanks ! (as every 3d model looks best if you show the least of it :D )

come on, it's all beaten up already if i add dirt i can call it "a piece of crushed yellow metal".. :)

could you maybe ding/dent up the crisp edges a little?

as scuffed as the paint job is, i think the metal would have some road rash.

it looks good though, it's easily recognizable as a matchbox/majorette toy. (i'm not up on the lingo, what exactly is a majorette?)

my problem with the edges is as follows: i'm kinda new to textureing, and my idea was to apply separate planar maps to the chassis from each side. for this reason i divided the mesh into four or five parts, and what i forgot about, was that meshsmooth doesn't work between elements (of course).. so if anyone can tell me how should have i done, please let me know.
another thing is i'm not very satisfied with the material of the wheels, generally i can't make any real looking plastic materials. ideas ?
with the paint job, that is sure real, as i used photos you see :)

Hello Needed!
