CGTalk - Render problem

I've a very stange problem with rendering.
When I try to render a still frame it works just fine but if I try to render an animation (100 frames) of the same scene i get a error message and 3dsm closes.

Please, can anyone help me?

Are you rendering to sequential Targa files? I had a similar problem in which MAX closed after saving a targa and trying to render the next. If you are rendering as a sequential targa try avi or some other format. good luck
