I just got to work on a new short film I'm planning. I guess I'm a little premature with this, but I wanted to show you guys a couple of the props that are going to be in it. Just got done with a light bulb, yeah lol I know :). and a stinger that is farther on in the short. I'll be posting this up in the wip section along with some concepts and the story line.

well heres some stills of the props, crits and comments appreciated... :) thanks -- ndat

Interesting stuff.

I like the quality of your renders. How are you adding the grain to the images?

The grain is from photoshop the noise filter, and I adjust the color, contrast, and saturation alot too. I feel it gives me alot more control over the final product. However for animations it cant be done, unless there is some program that allows you to do photoshop stuff to animations, that would be cool :).

I really like the mood in your renders.

You actually can do about the same with your animation as you would with Photoshop. Ever heard of After Effects? There are blur filters, level and saturation adjustments, curves. For most of the filters you can save your setting in Photoshop and load them into the same filter in After Effects.

For adding grain there are also a lot of filters. Try Cinelook from digi effects. This is specially made for this kind of work.

You can also try to make an image with grayscale grain in Photoshop. Make it the top layer in after effects and set transfermode to screen or so. Then with the opacity channel you can adjust the amount of grain.

Hope to have been of some help

Good luck with your short

Excellent style for the images and the models are really good too:thumbsup:

You can also render to TIFs, post-process, then combine into a video format. Very time consuming but cheaper if you don't want to buy After Effects
