View Full Version : Model Opacity
MissOptimist 12-29-2010, 12:54 AM Does anybody here know how to make the zsphere transparent or change the opacity of it? I want to be able to see the reference behind the zsphere I am working on. The transparent tool doesn't seem to be working for me. I made sure that the zphere is selected under the subtool, but when I click the 'transp' button, it made the plane transparent instead of the zsphere
here's what I'm talking about:

check out this link:
http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/Image_Plane
Basically, under "texture" menu at the top, under "image plane" sub menu, click "load image" and choose your reference picture.
Once that loads, create your zsheres.
Going back to the "texture" menu, you will now see a "model opacity" slider which will control the opacity of your zspheres or the preview adaptive skin (press the keyboard key "a")
Clicking the black "help" button will tell you how to set the reference views
OR check out this video on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPfKQHgwT4I
which is an older method.

I have zbrush 4.0 I don't know why under the texture menu, I don't see the 'image plane' sub menu. Is this a plug in I should download?

Download here:

Do a search at www.zbrushcentral.com (http://www.zbrushcentral.com), there are many answers to questions you may have there.

it doesn't work, when I decrease the opacity, it makes both the plane and zsphere transparent.
I just find it strange that I have the zsphere active under the subtool, when I hit the transparent button, the plane becomes transparent and not the zsphere.

Oh I solved the problem, all I had to do was keep the transparent button on, and then make sure the 'ghost' button is off  now I can actually see the reference behind the sphere
