View Full Version : Should I use the "Video" Antialiaser for video?
Gilgamesh 06-01-2002, 08:17 AM Is it a good idea to use the "video" antialiasing filter when you are planning on the output ultimately being VHS? Similarly, if I don't use that AA solution, is it good to blur the final renders ever so slightly in post if I plan on printing to video?
It would be NTSC 720x480, if that makes a difference.

if you have sharp edge or some noisy textures in your movie, it's good to use it,
& always it's better to have some video AA filter for printing
to video.

If you ask me, AA filter choice is a matter of how you want things to look. 90% of the time, the area filter does the job. I like a lot Mitchell-Netravally for some stuff... video is kinda blurry for me. If materials give you problems, try either video AA or supersampling the offending material. Hope it helps. Cheers!
