Ok.....so......Fur will not work at all. I can hide everything in my scene, and it will work fine. I can hide any major part of it, and it works fine. I cannot isolate 1 thing that makes it not work. It seems that fur fails in scenes with a very high poly count (48MB file right now). Strange.....so......if I can't use fur, and there is waaaayyy too much grass to use paint effects (and they take forever to get right and to render.....HOW CAN I SIMULATE GRASS?? I need to figure this one out. And finally, I turned on raytraced reflections in my scene and as far as I could tell, they didnt reflect the envSky map that i have for my environment. This is a big problem. It's probably because I have it mapped to an image plane on the camera, but then how do I get it to reflect??? It's VERY important that I get it to reflect. THANKS GUYS!!!

A buffer of some kind wether it be texture or geom seems to be full. what kind of Video card are u using.....I used to have the same problems kinda..back with my old TNT2 32MB M64...But my new Geforce 4 ti 4600 works like a dream. In your Bios if u can increase the AGP apeture size it maya help...or if u have PCI Vid onboard increase shared memory...It could help. Another problem could be >>> Windows XP doesnt like Open Gl on older cards. If u are partly emulating GL (ie. using the windows default drivers for some cards uses emulation coz there the only ones that are stable)....Maya doesnt like that to much.

As far as the sky goes this may be a dumb thing to ask but have u cranked up the amount of reflects for the raytracing in globals etc? Try mapping your sky to one of those cool dome projection systems there very fast to.
