Godd stuff! Is there any real photography in there and is that a "tree character" walking around? Whats the black smoke for too?

yes it it a tree character and actually there´s a battle going on - perhaps you can spot the two orcs ;-)

everything is modelled, you can have a look here:http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=88836

Really cool ! Extremely detailed.

I like the concept too. It's a good thing that you didn't put the maincharacters in front. The viewer really has to search and look closely to see what's going on.

-ents

-orcs

-bugs

Some of the plants are available from my download site:

http://www.ddd-world.de/download/

Just browse to the Xfrog section.
You can load them directly into Lightwave, Maya, Max and Cinema4D with the free Xfrog3.5 plugin.
For other applications you will have to get Xfrog3.5 standalone (demo) and convert them to 3ds for example.

very cool, so for me I find lighting too traditional....can be to take a direction more marked

hi,

I also made a little test to see, if I can animate the scene - here is the result (only cam animation, 100 frames):

http://www.ddd-world.de/videos/forrest_02.avi (MS MPEG4 V2)

so hopefully I find the time to make a little animation out of this picture..

Walli

beautiful work. great detail. i went to your site & that is really cool of you to have the trees & flowers available for download.

one thing i would say is that the line that separates the midground from the background---the top of the trees behind & to the left of the ent--- should probably have a slight shadow variation on it or something more to show depth--- it starting to look a bit flat right there-- in front of the mountains--- you do not notice this to the right of the ent--- the perception of depth is working well there.

again-- great eye for detail-- i like the butterflies especially.
