I noticed that getting the shadow passes I need using "Use background" shader entire alpha......as in 100% making my shadown too dark....

Is there a way I can fix this?

Thank You.

Andrei

Just use plain lambert for your shadow pass, or the original shader, there's no reason to use "Use Background" - is there?

Hey sorry Jeremy I fixed the animating and nurb specific problem....but my alpha is fully opaque......

How would you do it without the Use Background shader?
You mean with the default Maya render pass?
because the alpha is too opaque...it doesnt seem to give me a transparent shadow....I probably have a parameter thats wrong..

Oh the reason I'm using the current method is because I need the shadow for compositing over footage I integrated 3D with...

Thanks again,
Andrei
