View Full Version : Photoshop upgrade question (PC2MAC)

I was wondering if you can upgrade from say Photoshop 5 PC version to Photoshop 6 in the Mac version. In other words, can you switch platforms as you upgrade or do you have to stay in the same platform that the lower version software was in?

I heard that most companies (ie. adobe and macromedia) don't let you do this. ONly allow upgrades of the same platform...
yes adobe allow this...you will probably need to talk to customer services, but if you do a search at the adobe forums you should dig up some info on it as i know its been asked there before.

Thanks Halo and Bumskee. I called up their customer service and they said it's possible. You have to fill out a special .pdf form on their website saying that you will terminate the old version. In addition to that you have to enter the "case ID number" so that they know that you want to upgrade to another operating system. Also you have to mail off a reciept or some proof of purchase. It's a bit of hassle, but it can be done.
cool, what they say about costs?

You only pay for shipping and the upgrade. Nothing more.
