Chaosgroup announced (http://www.chaosgroup.com/en/2/news.html?single=325) The latest version 1.20 of the grid based simulator for fire and smoke Phoenix FD has just been released. The software perfectly combines a grid based simulator with outstanding rendering capabilities. In addition to the usual uniform fluid behavior, Phoenix FD is capable of simulating a whole array of other processes like pressure decay, thermal radiation cooling and mass-temperature dependence.

Anyone knows how does this compares to the great Fume FX?

Well you might be right or then you started to use it like I did.
In the beginning I tried to use it like Fume, and that didn't work at all.
Now after I've really studied the Phoenix, I have to say that it's really easy
to use and the speed is amazing.
