i cant say i like the trees but the house is modeled well. i think maybe some more growth in the plants to help tie in the forground and background would also help a lot.

the trees texture look like need some texture work, and the house is too....impecable. Guess some dirt would improve it given that the place it is in doesnt look too taken care off :)

Im no pro, but thats my point of view, other than that i like it a lot

Well... not all the houses are dirty :p

The house is okay, but the environment needs a LOT of work. The trees are really a bit much, you need a lot more variation in their placement, size and shape. The trees also have really bad anti-aliasing artifacts on them. Incidently, it's obvious even at a quick glance that the tree in the background on the left is the same as the tree in the foreground on the right. You also need to do something about the branches that seem to be coming out of the roof of the house - it looks like the house has a large set of antlers :p
The bark texture also needs a lot of work - it looks like you've just projected an image through them.

It would be nice to see some of the trees casting shadows onto the house - it would help to create a more foresty idea.

The way the ground suddenly ends looks nasty - you need to solve that. Maybe add some ground fog and have the trees form a dense forest behind the house. Also, right now it looks like the trees in the background are a flat image and it looks odd. Rather create and actual modelled forest in the background. If the poly count gets too much you can always render the environment in a seperate scene and composite it in.

The texture you have used for the ground and for the very base of the structure which meets the ground is too low res, and especially on the structure base, doesn't look quite right. It almost looks like you're trying to make the base look like it's made out of mud.

What is the purple stuff in all the windows? Incidently, it doesn't look like their are any windows (no glass). Try and model some objects inside the house so that you get the impression of actual rooms through the windows because right now it looks like the inside of the house is just a big vast open space without any rooms.

The roof texture is way too clean and too neat. While some people may put a hose to their walls and spray them down once in a while, not many people clean their rooftops. Sure rain does clean it somewhat, but it does leave streakiness and there would be a buildup of gunk along the bottom edges of the roof.
I also do feel that the actual wall textures are too plain. There would be some dirt somewhere, even if only subtle. The weather leaves strong effects on buildings.

On a more artistic note, it might be nice to actually grade this image with more autumn colours - deep browns and golds, because the trees suggest that this is the season.

I guess you have the basic elements for a nice scene, but you need more detail, more life and a little bit more mood :)

I'd add more grass. Right now there looks like there is just one patch of grass growing right in front of the camera. I'd put some around the trees and at the base of the house at least.

The trees look a little weird. The edges are very bumpy/wavy, but the bark texture used makes the tree look smooth and worn.

I do like the colors and lighting though

Much better on the lighting:) Though I'd make a more prominent light from the lightside than the front side. The front side of the center structure would likely have a touch less light than the left side of the house (not sure where your 'sun' light is?)

I agree with the detail and texture sentiments, but my biggest critique is with the composition / camera angle. A bit more dramatic camera angle would really dress this scene up. It is clear that your focal point is the house, but it is centered in the scene - and pretty much a symmetrically balanced object.

I would swing the camera around to view the front door, placing the house in the left 1/3 of the composition. You might try placing a tree to frame out a portion of the house, possibly applying some depth of field (focus on the house).

The lighting looks much better - great work:)

Hi there,

so you made a much bigger render as the last I saw, that's fine. I have to agree with the last three answers, follow these suggestions and you'll get to the right point.

I like your colours though, they give the image some nice warmth.

And I would like to see something happening, maybe something very little like a cat climbing on that roof or so. Would make it much more interesting. But that's just my opinion.

Hey Irina,

Nice house. I think it just needs a little character. You know, paint chipping around the edges, maybe some sort of decoration like wind chimes (or lawn gnomes :scream: ) or even some porch furniture. Right now, as it is, a FOR SALE sign should be in the foreground because nobody lives there. The house has no gutters. IT NEEDS GUTTERS. BELIEVE ME!

But it's a nice place.
