View Full Version : Milky Way?
3dean 10-13-2003, 07:35 PM anyone have any cool ideas for creating a milky way or some sort of spiral galaxy in max, either w/particles or w/out?
can't locate any tutorials

I think you may be able to use a motor space warp possibly to twirl the particles? but I have never used it so I don't know how it works.
An alternative may be to 'mesher' a particle system then apply a twist modifier or something similar.

The only problem with it is one
he mentions:
"Okay, once you’ve set the scene to render, I’d recommend you go and make a cup of tea, have a bite to eat, do a spot of laundry, rotate your tyres and so on. Because this baby is going to take a hell of a long time to render..."

Hmm.. yeah, I guess so. It was just a starting point then. Maybe you could develop a better method based on Xeno's.
