View Full Version : Character: A Villain with Style

I had a previous incarnation of this character up about six months ago: http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=754787#post754787
The background and gun were the focus of critique for most people, so I fixed them today. I stuck with an abstract backdrop as it's the character that's important.
I used Photoshop 7, a dual Athlon MP2400 PC with an oversized A4 Wacom tablet.
Crit away peeps!:)

Is it really that bad? If it is, let me know why so I can improve!!:p

No it's not bad at all :D
I like it, very funny.
It sometimes takes some time till people do post their opinons on a picture here =)
the perspective of the riffel barrles is not right though.
looks like they point in different directions plus they should get wider at the end.

Thanks for the crit, OrcOYoyo:)
I see what u mean about the gun barrels.:hmm:
I think it kicks ass! Awesome imagination. Cool character! I can't say enough about it. I'm not sure I agree that the barrels are off. It may be the smaller hole in the bottom barrel that is throwing your eye off. Especially since the lower barrel is LONGER than the top.
Model the gun in 3D and see if it is right or not.
Great work!

nice character, odd, but nice ;p
i'd say he has alot going for him, though hes missing one important detail.
his emotion, the expression hes giving off is confusing and i take it hes got an angry feeling inside him, but with his smile and seeing a butt load of teeth it changes that. dunno.
but good work :-)

I like the character. The only things that are bothering me are:
-How does he pulls the trigger? At the mo', it looks like his fingers don't extend past the grip.
-Where is the trigger anyway?

It may just be an optical illusion, or because the gun is dipped slightly downward and outward, but I'm happy that the gun works anyway, I think.
Thanks for the kind comments ESAD:D
I was going for a kind of psychopathic look, mage111 - if anything, void of emotion. I tried to capture a menacing, almost maniacal grin, which felt uncomfortable against such a flambouyant backdrop.
In hindsight, anger or bitterness would probably have come across stronger!:)
Hellwolve: I'm assuming a trigger, but since it was hidden behind the magazine, I didn't give it much thought. I guess I should pay more attention to the things I can't see in future, huh?
