Hi, im totally new to Maya, i've quite a bit of experience with Soft3D and XSI but i have a question concerning the GraphEditor in Maya.

If i select 2 different objects. In my GraphEditor they will both appear...right!!!

So, if i want to affect the A-object curves i can, and i see the B-odject's curves also, and i can affect them too.

But if i want to affect the A-object's curves and want to keep the B-object's curves in Template, or ghost, or whatever you call the fact that an object if there as a reference only (non-affectable).

I've heard that this is possible since Maya 4.0.

And im not talking about the swap buffer thing....

Could somebody help me???

Thanks in advance

well, if you just select the attribute, the curve of which you want to modify, all the other curves will be filtered out, so there's no need for templating !

or did I miss the point somehow ?!

Thank you very much for the try...sincerly.
But no, you kinda missed the point.

What i ment was this:

Ex: I've animated both "Root" and "Neck" in Rotation Y.
If i select the 2 Objects, the Y rotation parameter of
both objects will be affectable into the GraphEditor.

My question is:

How can i put "Root" Rotation Curve there only as a template.
Kinda like a "Screenshot" of the curve as a reference for the
timing of the Affected curve.

Thanks again!

upps, unfortunately i'm not able to help you on this one because i'm a complete newbie to 3D yet and haven't come far enough to even think about rigging or animating a skeletonized character ! :wip:

sorry !:hmm:
