View Full Version : How to set an absolut parameter ??
Putois_Blagueur 10-12-2003, 01:10 PM Does anybody know how I can give an absolut parameter (postion, rotation or scale) to several things (vertices, edges or polys) at the same time ? Cause when for example I select 2 points and give them the position x=0, then XSI make an average position=0, I mean it gives for example x=0.1 to a point and x=-0.1 to the other. How can I give 0 to both af them without taking each point separatly ?? Please help !!

I would like to know this, too. In maya I can snap selected vertices to an axis so that all vertices have the same coordinates in that axis. I solved it this way: I select the vertices, scale them down to 0 in the preferred axis and then place it to the coordinates I want.. is there another way?
edit:
Oh, I have it. In the Transform menu, just activate the function "Collapse Points When Snapping". If you set one value for a selection of vertices for example, the whole vertices will be set to this value. Or if you snap and move them.

Well I don't find the "Collapse Points When Snapping" fonction...
Can you tell me exactly where it is ??? I work with XSI 2.01

Oh, I am sorry. This function is available since 3.5, but you still can scale selected components, like vertices, down to 0 in the preferred axis and then set another value for them.

Ok, nevermind. I tried your scaling technic and it works very well !!(so why adding a collapse function ??hu, I'm talking to you XSI !!) Thank you for your help Pixologie !
