These are really cool fx.
I wonder what is made in maya and what in df.

Hi!
Dynamics is driven by expressions wich mimics fluid dynamics using standart Maya particles. It have controllable attributes like vorticity, buoancy, temperature etc...
All animations are hardware-rendered. Then in DF i do color correction, smoothing and a bit of layering.
Thank You.

wait, so it mimics fluids with regular particles, but is it just as slow as fluids? Im curious, cause I love fluids, but they are so damn slow! :D
*reel finished downloading*
wow, top notch stuff, now im really curious... you should really write some tutorials! (specially on the black smoke, and the scales.... but also, just the basic fire)
Cheers,
**Edit: you have Maya 4, there is no fluids in version 4, so how are you going about this?

I like the fire effex they are really good... the 1st one I looked at kinda looks like a charcoal grill somewhat on a windy day.. I have been trying to mimic the same in 3ds max.. with no advial... anyway you did a swell job... but my comment is in the silver animation.... "Scale.mov" that is some really interesting work you have going on there... its really cool... I liked that one best of all of them... altho I am a pyro in reality hahaha but your work is cool... I dont give a good crit like this... but I can see the flames in reality so I guess thats good enough... but that Scale.mov is really awsome....
btw wanna see how pyro'ish i look... take a look here...

Thanks for reply!
Gremlin : The system don't have ANY conection with Maya Fluid effects,so it can work in Maya 3-5. And yes,it's faster than fluids.
DeathGoth : Oh my...you are a real pyromaniac. I hope no animals were harmed during explosion :)
