I have a problem I dont know how to solve, I want this flat plane to move along a road I have modeled, but the road is very bumpy and has hills e.t.c. how could you get the plane to fall flat on the road mesh and follow its surface? I dont want to have to animate this plane key frame style all the way along, surely if I animate it in a line or fix it to a path, there is some way of geting the plane to deform to the road. Help please!

have a look for a free plugin called 'object deform', which i think is by peter watje. it does both temporary collision deformations like you want, & you can cache permanent ones too (like tracks in snow).

edit: that fella above is right- conform spacewarp is a simpler choice in this case
