View Full Version : Cps Question About Rigging
Darrell Croswell 05-31-2002, 02:36 AM i have been using the connect poly shape script for about a year now.
i still am not sure whether or not to delete my history on the proxy shape and bind that or bind to the base and animate/ weight that.
what works better for you guys???
thanks for your time.

With Cps i usually everything to the base mesh. It is far easier to work with for things like Uv mapping, rigging and animating. I just save turning on the proxy mesh until render time.

that is kind of what i have been thinking, but i have a texture question that arrises after your statement.
if i set up my uv's on the base mesh...will it assign to my proxy alright for rendering or will it be all ****ed up??? how do i go about assigning the right shaders to the right faces on the proxy if i textured the base mesh??
thanks man.

As you make the uv's on t he base mesh they are coppied over to the proxy mesh (but look a lot denser due to the smoothing). I think you would be better off using the smoothed uv's for texturing because i think hte edges shift slightly (I'm not entirely sure though). Just go into the layers and remove referencing from the proxy layer, select it and go into the uv editor and take a snpshot. I think hte shaders per faces thing acts the same.
