Hi, CGtalkers...

I am a rigging novice at Maya and Max but more proficient at 3ds Max. After watching the Legend of the Guardians, I believe many of us are pretty amazed at how they managed to rig the wings so smoothly and realistically..

So I took this as a challenge so to improve my skill further and not to restrict my modeling to just skin winged bat creatures.

After studying the bird anatomy and the wing structure the more confused I get.

This clashes with the tutorials online. Like this one http://www.hartworks.net/blender/jared/

In this case the wing just folds horizontally before rotating to the side of the body. But anatomy of real birds dun seem to work this way.

Someone who has rigged anatomically correct birds pls comment.
