For those of us who miss Icarus, there is another, currently free, camera tracking application being developed. It appears that it currently supports export to Softimage and 3DS Max

It's called, "Voodoo Camera Tracker: A tool for the integration of virtual and real scenes". Here is the link:

Since Icarus turned commercial, I've been looking for something free to guide my budget minded friends to and this is it. Thanks a lot for posting this. I'm sure they will all appreciate it.
Thanks.
Great - cheers for the link will be checking out its useability tonite. So much for Icarus, haven't heard any success stories since it went legite.

I tried this out a few days ago, and it worked pretty good. I hope it supports camera movement soon, and not just rotation.

looks pretty cool....
everyone should realize though, that Universities are often mandated to comercialize products (like ICARUS) to recoup the $$$ spent on developing them....it's very likely that in a year 'voodoo' will be a commercial product as well...

All except Mac OS X users, alas. :thumbsdow
I've emailed asking if there are plans for an OS X version, and even offered assistance in porting, but got no response.
Ah, well.
Back to Icarus.

you know, if you are a student, you can get PFTrack (aka Icarus) for about 40 or 50 pounds.
