Hi people,

I pratic the 3D since not for a long time. My friend help me regulary in 3dsmax for modeling, texture, landscape .... . In the futur, I'm going learn zbrush in small time. I create characters. My future passion ^^.

My question is: I shall like becoming a modeler 3d characters.

In France, there is really no school which really trains in the modelling of character. I saw a school considered: Vancouver Film School

This school learns us specially to model characters or not too much? Because I am fascinated, if I do not go into a school it disturbs me in no way but it is rather for my parents XD. (and i have not lot of money :( ).In the work, the companies accept easily the self-taughts if they are well? Motivated?

Thank you very much all :)

Ivan

You might want to consider another option - since you want to do characters, why not do a degree in fine art, focusing on drawing and sculpture? The most important skill for a character artist is an excellent understanding of anatomy, and this can take a long time to master. You can buy DVDs which instruct modelling techniques that'll allow you to transfer your traditional art skills to your digital work, and doing a fine art degree will probably cost less than a specialised school like VFS.

Thank you very much for this answer which goes a lot help me:). I think of making that you me said, internet is the best school according to my opinion:p.

But in the jobsof video games or the cartoon film, the companies recruit that on the portfolio ?

If we do not gain widespread acceptance of video games, it's not serious ? I think not but well.
