CS5 Zoom options

i don't understand what you mean by in/out and crop. what has crop to do with zoom?

one way is the you draw a rectangle around the area you want zoomed into.
tanother is clicking on screen and moving the mouse right or left.

how I choose the default to be the first option ?

you need to uncheck the scrubby zoom checkbox (at the top), when the zoom tool is activated ;)
