This is what the ad says....
For sale..Lightwave 3D 7.5 Full Version PC/Mac License...Comes with 2 discs, PC and Mac and one serial dongle. I will write the winner a letter stating I have transferred my license.
Completely legit.

The guy is selling an upgrade CD (look at the photo). And it isn't the duo dongle version of LW either since the Mac doesn't support a parallel dongle.
It seems questionable at best. If he wants to sell it, he'd have to sell off his LW 6 version, or whatever version he upgraded to 7 from as well.
So you can see why people question the validity of it.

I am the seller.
Since I own 3 licenses of LW and I happened to put the wrong dongle in the shot...WELL EXCUSE ME!!!!
Once again, it amazes me how people are so quick to make judgements especially when it doen't even concern them.

Well, I don't think it's a problem with you, just the info that is posted on the auction page.
It shows a photo of an upgrade CD, it says Serial dongle, which is incorrect (older versions used Parallel dongles). The duo version of LW requires the USB key in order to be the Duo version for Mac/PC.
Just raising questions since you posted the info on this board for people to look into. If anyone has any questions regarding your merchandise I am sure they can consult with you and NewTek to question it's validity.
But either way, people have a right to know when information is incorrectly posted.
Good luck with your sale. :wavey:

Sorry to offend but your "kosher smosher" comment seemed strange to me.To me it seemed like you were saying who cares if it is legit. I was basing my comments purely by what rottle said. I should have dug a little further, sorry for jumping the gun.
So just to make things clear, this is a full license not an upgrade? You made it clear also this is NOT a hacked copy.

Yep, no such thing as a serial dongle in the first place. It's either USB or parallel.
kenmac, you are aware you have to supply all previous versions and you don't mention that in your ad.
Besides, anyone asking more than $500 US for a used license is asking too much.
Rabidpitbull, it says upgrade on the picture.

I would actually slightly disagree with you on this in general. The dongle adds an element of hardware legitimacy to the sale and since NewTek allows for personal license transfers, I don't see how anything more than $500 for a $1600 piece of software is "asking too much" as long as the package is complete. But, in this particular sale I would have to agree with you. Without the original box, manuals and USB dongle which truly allows for dual-platform usage, this is certainly not worth what he is asking. Purely my opinion of course.

Actually, I *was* interested in making this purchase, but your overall attitude compelled me to look elsewhere. As a result, I ended up paying less money and for a truly complete package with USB dongle and manuals. Good luck with the auction.

I'm glad to see that you've updated the auction information to include the USB duo dongle and manuals. I think the winner will value having the documentation, regardless of your views on it's usefulness. Good man.

I feel sorry for the sucker that's getting an upgrade cd when the auction says full version. Although, I'm just going by the photo, which has the wrong dongle, only one of the two cd's, doesn't show the manual, or the box, and shows an upgrade cd instead of a full version. Why would anyone buy anything with that kind of misinformation?

Let me ask you all...Do you really think my intention is to rip people off? I will supply all the correct disks, dongle and whatever else is needed. For a community of people who are about sharing art you all sound like a bunch of out of work angry people looking to point a finger.
I have posted my websites and even supplied my contact information and none of you have had the balls to contact me directly. Maybe you should mind your own business and move along. Go look in the mirror and ask who am I to judge this person? That person being me.

Hey ken, get off your high horse. I don't see why you need to insult us because we are questioning your ad that has the completely wrong photo showing. And what's with your attitude? Geez, relax man!

Hey guys, please keep this peaceful.
Kenmac - please don't respond to legitimate queries or concerns with sarcasm. While the subtle accusations of piracy were uncalled for in the beginning, I don't see a problem with queries regarding an apparent misrepresentation of the product being sold.
Insulting people who made sincere inquiries about the product is not a polite thing to do - please refrain from doing so in the future.

Actually, since the sale is done I'll close this thread to prevent any needless continuation of the insults.
