I'm wondering if it's possible to get the square root of something just by using nodes?

I couln't find a node that had this function integrated in Maya, I know there's possible to download some math nodes, but I want the possibility to open the scene on computers without any plugins.

I've heard about scriptNodes, I'm not sure if that could help me on this task? Any suggestions?

Yup. Use the shading utility, multiplyDivide. Set the operation to power, and set the input2 to 0.5, 0.5, 0.5.....
