View Full Version : Poly charactor Normal Problem
TheTick 10-08-2003, 10:16 PM I dont know what i did wrong but my normals are wigging out,
Ive tried to conform the poly's but it isnt fixing it, However when i smooth the geometry it flips the normals and fixes them. Too bad this isnt a high poly mesh. HEeelp
Using Maya 5 ed. edition.

did u try using the soft/hard vert, i think it was in the poly options. I remeber it helped smooth out the edges and make it look alot smoother. Thats all i can remeber, since i use max now at work 24/7 ;(

Enter this into your script editor, and execute:
polyNormalPerVertex -ufn true;

No prob! Save it to your shelf so you have it for later. (middle mouse button drag from script editor to shelf)

wow, thanks alot for that script, I have been looking for something like this for ages! It has fixed all the problems normals have been giving me on all my low poly models. Thanks again.
