While creating this still, I have about 4 -5 times run into the same problem. The mesh detached from bones. I dun know how to solve it except to delete the bones and reconvert skelegons again which is tedious especially when you have finished posing.:hmm: What went wrong??

it looks like the legs and clothing are in a different layer, why don't you just put them in the same layer?

Everything is in the same layer except the hair chains which is in different layer becos I have to dissolve it for renders.

Obvious question, but it has to be asked: Have you set the "Subdivision Order" to "After Bones" or "Last"? If that doesn't work, perhaps try upping the bone influence/painting a weight map?

Great work, nonetheless. Perhaps the colors are a bit too saturated/blown out in the center of the image, but other than that, nice work. :)

Subdivision is set to last and bones are weight mapped. When the mesh is "detached", moving the bones doesn't affect the mesh.

Did you set limits on the leg?

-edit-
oh, ok, the first image was kinda hard to see.

maybe you need to create wight maps for the offendind parts, if you've already done that then check to make sure the bones are using the weight map that was assigned to them.

never mind youposted first than I did

Check your bones...and make sure they all have some sort of weight assigned to them. If that isn't the problem...have a look at your weights in modeler and make sure they're correct there too:)

I'm willing to bet you have ONE bone somewhere without a weight on it....:)

Yes Remi, you are right. All bones have a weight map except the bones connecting the thigh bone to the pelvis. Must every bone in the character have a weight map to be working properly? How should I weight mapped the connecting bones?

Another question: When to use record pivot rotation? Sometimes pressing this button distort the character mesh.

I sometimes give those bones the weight of my body or hips depending on the character.....and yes they all must....also recording pivot rotation will mess up the mesh if you don't have auto key on or are manually creating a keyframe. If you have any questions or would like to see my rig PM with your email addy:)
