Hey you guys...still working on my nerve to post my stuff here. Figured I might climb out on a limb here and post one of mine and everyone else's favorites. Thought I'd bounce this one off some folks here to get a better idea of how strong of a piece this is or not.

It's an OH SO SIMPLE piece, but it was a good project.

I did this and some similar stuff for an independent study in art. I scan in the original sketch and then paint in Photoshop, but for each piece I limited myself to using just ONE tool and allowed myself to use nothing else. My theme for the semester was "fables and fairy tales." This is one of the "Fox and the Grapes" images.

For this one I used only the airbrush tool.

Here's the original drawing: sketch (http://www.polydimensions.net/grapes-sketch.jpg)

I like the piece.

The only chane I would make is to give a bit more
dept to the dark areas, but besides that I like it.

Roberto, tell me if this looks any better (it's a larger image also):

I wish I had more time to do the challenges =( I didn't get to start the celebrity thing until today. I'll probably do them anyway, regardless of meeting the time frames. I need the practice.

thank ya so much

It looks nice.
Good job.
The idea of the FUNDAMENTALS threads is to practice, so please
post at your convenience.

Nice grapes
needs more highlights and tranlucency
bit stony looking now
also some green shadows would do.

I don't feel very qualified to critique this kind of art, but I think it's good. The only thing that jumps out at me as needing more work is the large branch. Considering how prominent it is, seems like it could use a little more attention. The other thing I would like is for the highlights, reflections, and shadow colors to say a little more about the environment, color of the sky, angle of the sun, time of day, time of year, and color. Not that it does a bad job of it now, just hope to see a little more.

Cheers

turn down the contrast on the branch, make it a subtle dark brown, or add a little depth of field
