Fur doesn't render! Please help!

Is there an attribute map allocated?

No, no attribute map. Now it seems to render fine exept for when I batch render, then there is no fur, and no shadow cast by fur either, but it seems to calculate fur before rendering each frame. Does it have anything to do with fields?

I'm really in need of help as I don't have an idea what to do! :) So any clues are very welcome.

Are you rendering in the hardware render? Do you have your uv maps set up right (the fur uses uv for placement)?

if u r using MR to render, i donot think it renders fur or subDs

Post effects don't work with interlacing. That would include: glows, paintfx, fur, opticalfx, etc....

Also, Ive had fur not render in large scenes. Try deleting a lot of excess geometry and see if the problem persists. I spent a good 16 hours this problem once. What you have sounds the same as what I was getting.

Are there any errors popping up?

i believe alias has posted somewhere on their site, i think in the faq's that fur is currently not renederable inside maya but outside renders can render fur. im not 100% positive but im pretty sure i saw that on their site.hope this helps:applause:

Thanks a lot everybody! Beaker have the solution, i rendered interlaced frames. should i render the fields separate? Does anyone know how I can get both fields into after effects when they are separate? Thanks

Or so I thought... I disabled fields and it still wont render in batch render. The fur renders if i render a still but not if I batch render.

Edit: no, i get no error messages
