View Full Version : Selecting surrounding vertices?

There is a function in Max where I could select a vertex, and the nearby vertices would also be selected(you can change settings so the number of nearby vertices selected would be higher or lower). I can then move that vertex and those nearby vertices would also move with it(you can also change the setting to how much the nearby vertices would be affected by the move).

Can I do that in Maya? I'm using unlimited, and I haven't come across a tool like that yet.

edit polygons-selection and then schrink or grow selection

Hey, thanks. That took care of the selecting part, but what about the transformation part? I mean, the soft-selection type thing where if I move the original vertex, the nearby selected vertices are affected in various levels of strength according to how close they are to the original vertex?

Hey thanks! That worked great!

I also found out that the falloff tool works too, just a bit general compared to the Clay Dough plugin. I guess the Clay Dough plugin is like having both grow selection and falloff tool combined.
