How do you find balance between your relationship and work? It's a personal story about a woman giving shape to her man's career, only to be cast aside and taken for granted while his ambitions grow.During my four years of study I was in a constant struggle to divide time between work ambitions and my wife and children. For my pre-graduation project (I'm a motion design student) I wanted to learn more about story telling and conveying human emotions through my medium of choice, 3D.

The idea of using dance as a way to communicate the story came about early on in the project. Dance is an ancient form of human expression, very visual and beautiful to watch. I'm not a great dancer, and probably an even worse choreographer, but luckily I found Eline and she did a great job of translating my written concept to a choreography that fit the story and it's emotions.

It's been a long time in the making, and a first for me on almost every stage in the production - script/story writing, directing, rigging, and working with motion capture. I hope you enjoy it. Ask any questions you want, I'd be more than happy to share!

Notion has been nominated for "New Arrivals". With this competition young aspiring filmmakers throughout Europe get the chance to win a screening at the Rotterdam Filmfestival. I made it to the last 8 and it's now down to the viewer's vote who wins. The competetion's pretty heavy on the 'traditional' type of shortfilms (i.e. filmed ;)), so help a CG project break through! If you enjoyed watching it, please click the stars below the video to cast your vote!

Watch, and vote for it here! (http://kortefilm.nps.nl/page/detail/newarrivals/video/788542/notion)
