Im trying to bake an ambient occlusion onto this Mask and i keep getting black blotches and most of the occlusion is missing from the map. Reading up on it i keep seeing that it has to do with the UV overlapping.

Fine so i dragged all overlapping UVs off the map to get rid of that problem but it hasnt helped at all.

My question is i originally split the mask and then mirror/welded it later so it would be uniform. However this was done long before i UV mapped it. Also some items were combined into the model when i reopened it ( since its an OBJ) but it didnt effect the UV at all. Any help on how to resolve this problem would be appreciated. Here are some pictures to get a better idea of whats going on.

It's a little tricky to understand the problem from your explanation. It's also hard to tell what's going on in your image. What method are you using to bake the occlusion? Are you using a MR batch bake or another method?
