WIP THREAD:
http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthr...?f=139&t=921201 (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=139&t=921201)
DESCRIPTION:
Interpretation of Operation Chastice. On the night of May 16th, 1943, nearly 1300 people died in the horrible events that took place.
My main focus was going to be on the airplane that breached the Mohnedam (Möhnetalsperre).
Although I got about 5 different water simulations, due to time constraints I wasn't able to render those parts out. Other things had a higher priority such as the sound and the overal action.
For this project I actually took the car, crossed the border and took about 300 pictures of the Mohne dam and environment. I also did a lot of research to the factual details.
I've been working on this animation in my spare time, as a one man project.
All models were created and animated by me.
The software I used:
- 3ds Max with Thinking Particles, FumeFX and FinalRender
- Photoshop
- After Effects
- SynthEyes
- Pro Tools
I will render out a version with a higher quality compression this week.
